Conditioning your new hemp/jute bondage rope This method is the one we prefer and that combines good results without being too complicated. It takes some time and patience, but it can be done by anyone without any particular skill. Take your rope and put it in the washing maching with a little soap. Select an energic program and wash it at high temperature, so that the fibers soften a little bit. When you take the rope out of the washing machine it will be darker, revelled and stiff. Don't panic: it is normal for wet rope to look just like that. Now you have to let the rope dry throughly: you have to unrevel it and let it hung under tension which can be achieved fixing the rope at the ends and hanging a weight in the middle! Remember that wet rope is shorter, so the rope will get back to the original lenght while it dries. It's even better if you stretch the rope with your hands. Once the rope is dry (it will take one or two days), you have to burn the fuzziness that inevitably is around all the rope passing carefully the rope on a burner. By doing so the rope will loose all the fuzz and will become smooth and soft. Rub a clean cloth on the rope to remove all the dirt and check if the rope has any fuzz left. You can repeat the burning process if needed. Last, you can rub some Mink Oil on the rope with a clean cloth to increase the shine and the smoothness. Let the oil dry and rub a cloth to remove the excesses from the rope. Now your rope is ready. |
